[VIDEO GAME] M&S London 2012

Today is the Europe launch day of
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
(America got it a bit earlier.)

The game pretty much is a partygame/mini-game collection and
- best played in multiplayer mode with some competitive friends -
a guarantee for fun time.
It is also great to be really active and get those Wii-Remotes shaking. xD


I dont think it is something you'd play constantly for years -
but well worth being picked up from time to time later on.

This is also shameless self-promoting. xDDD I worked on this game for several months
(I sacrificed my summer holidays to this...-emotional attachment much xD)
- and am still looking forward to playing it again with my family this Christmas.

And on to more baking!

I made those chocolate cookies topped with royal icing yesterday - they looked so pretty -...

... and ruined them today.
After having seen a perfect example of these online, I had to try it.
I bought one of these edible black food pens to draw on the icing..
however even after 12 hours the royal icing on some was still too wet and the pen broke through.
Turns out I put the icing on too thick.
Ahahahaharg!

Melonpan

Yesterday I decided to bake Melonpan.
It was kinda out of the blue...
I used a recipe I found online to buy all the ingredients and just started
(without having actually read the recipe beforehand).
Gosh! I had no clue it was going to be so time consuming and messy.

The coating dough was very sticky and the bread dough took ages to rise...
I also wanted to add some actual melon flavouring which I had to make myself by cooking fresh melon...

They dont quite look the part..I couldnt manage to do the melon pattern on top,
however,
they tasted pretty decent. =)

forgot the sugar coating on the first batch...

I handed some of them out to people and they said they were yummy!
So, success, I guess.. xD         I'll have another try to improve sometime.

Takoyaki~Ramune

Hi guys!

Gosh! It's been so long since I last blogged.
I'm currently on (ivoluntary) detox.
It's about 1 1/2 months now that I don't have internet at home or even a PC.
I want to change my blogdesign but guess that will have to wait now...

Anyone fancy some fried octopus soda?
I recently discovered Ramune Takoyaki Sauce.
Of course I had to buy it.

 蛸焼/Takoyaki are fried balls of dough with octopus in it
- it's (one of) my favourite Japanese food.

I'm not sure if making drinks that resemble savoury foods will ever be a good idea...
the taste was somewhat chemical.. and blergh! ヾ(｡｀Д´｡)ﾉ
I could not manage to drink the whole bottle. xDDD

They had Curry flavoured one too, I shall try it next..... ehehehe.

(You'd think that with being out and about in real-life, I'd get fit...
but apparantly I feel like I'm getting fat..and my face is somewhat covered in spots thesedays that I rarely go out without wearing a cap.
Oh, well.. it's getting better but...  maaaahh!)

Ahhh..bank holiday weekend (number two)!

I never thought I'd say that, but I'd be so happy to work...
Well the last few days haven't been too terrifyingly boring tho..
I survived the Royal Wedding madness. Been strolling around Westminster, amongst thousands of people,
however all I caught of the ceremony was one short glimpse on a TV screen while queueing in a supermarket. xD
I went to some medieval gathering yesterday... wearing a medieval dress, dancing around the may pole to celtic music
and  having people adress me with 'Mi Lady'.
Today I spent a day at church - hitting just the right spot in my life atm.
And tomorrow I'll be borrowing a complete strangers' dog, haha, just to go for a walk.

However, for those moments you still happen to get struck by boredom,

Hairy update~

I changed my haircolour again recently.

Rabbito actually noticed from the small profile pic. xD

After turning white, my hair became quite overbleached and

damaged.

Basically I am looking to go back to a haircolour that is more easily to maintain.

Like brownish, dark purple or black?

I thought, having a white base is quite good for changing into any colour.

So now I'm this:

I'm such a lady! xD

I'm a bit scared of changeing into something dark, still I think blonde or at least bright colours fit me best.
Tough decision.

The good thing is my current workplace allows any kind of colour as there is no dresscode.

Riots in Central London yesterday

and find the city in a state of devastation.

but I expected nothing like this when I came out of Piccadilly station.


Anti-capitalist protesters, demonstrating against the government’s public spending cuts,
knocked over  trash bins, setting them on fire, smashed the windows of banks and shops and sprayed anarchist symbols over buildings.

I was just thinking...

Should I introduce the city a bit?

I could make some posts introducing different places (like some kind of series..)

with info and pictures and such.

I'm really not quite sure how to start blogging again...
however I dont want to just let this die. (>_<)
I think I should make some changes..but Im not sure where exactly to start...

So just a small update about life... I graduated last October (did I ever mention that before? O__o ). I moved back to London - and since last month am working for

EUROPE

as a video game tester, doing Language QA.
I love it! It's quite fun and the atmosphere is like in a big family.

Still gotta sort out lots of stuff,
but hope to get this going again...
